Easy ways to maintain prenatal wellness
The pregnancy is the stage where a woman requires loads of nutrition and happiness around her because everything that a woman eats and does during this time affects the health of both the mother and the baby. For a healthy pregnancy, a mother needs a complete diet, proper exercising, and vitamins supplement as per the instructions of the doctors. All these things help in the growth of the baby and lead to a smooth pregnancy. Here are a few suggestions to follow for prenatal wellness and healthy living.
Pregnancy is the time when a baby’s growth totally relies upon the mother’s diet for the whole 9 months. This is why a woman needs to avoid fat, sugar, unhealthy food and adhere to a full nutritious diet comprising the following;
- Fruits & vegetables
- Whole grains
- Low-fat dairy
- Healthy fat (Omega 3)
- Protein-rich food
The food that a pregnant woman eats must be healthy and hygienic and free from unhealthy fat. The diet must be full of calcium, minerals, iron, and folic acids that take care of the well-being of the woman during pregnancy.
Drinking lots of water keeps the mother and the child hydrated and helps prevent indigestion. A woman needs to drink plenty of water and keep taking sugar-free and caffeine-free juices in between the meals. One should try for 8-10 glasses of water in a day during pregnancy to stay hydrated and healthy.
A heavy workout is not recommended during pregnancy but a woman should keep doing mild exercises such as brisk walking, yoga, swimming, cycling, and other low-impact poses. Do all the exercises safely to keep a balance and do not overdo it. A light workout, during the prenatal stage, strengthens the muscles of the body and helps prepare for the delivery.
